Good Reads!

I’m an avid reader - newspapers, magazines, and especially good non-fiction books. I usually read at least one book every other week. Here are some of my personal “good reads”.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW ABOUT LUCK - Tina Seelig. Much of what we call luck results from deliberate actions. I found this book fascinating in how to catch the winds of luck. I've had good luck in my life, but this information puts a whole new spin on it!

IMAGINE THAT - Cassandra Vieten, PhD . So interesting when you learn about the “Science of Imagination”. This author teaches us how to re-enchant life, enliven our world, and spark new hope and joy through the practice of imagination. And she has the science to back it up!

DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU THINK - Joseph Nguyen. Want to learn how to break destructive thinking patterns, like the ones that wake you up at 3 a.m.? Nguyen teaches how to become emotionally resilient and free from anxiety at any moment.

HOW TO RETREAT - Caroline Sylge. No need for a meditation retreat at the top of a mountain monastery to discover the magic of retreating. You can do it wherever you are, and for however much time you have. This is a beautiful collection of retreat experiences that enable you to rejuvenate and restore yourself - no plane ticket needed.

THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING - Joan Didion. A classic I pull out and read every year. Didion shows how she gets through grief by looking back. She explores an intensely personal yet universal experience: a portrait of a marriage and a life, in good times and bad.
